It has certainly been a long time since I last posted, but I finally had some time this morning to do record. I managed to get this down in one take with no editing, although it is a bit rough around the edges. Over the past few years, I've learned several songs that I haven't had the time to record (but could likely get down in a few takes).
This is another Gregory Alan Isakov song, which he often performs live with simple acoustic instruments. Often times, the entire band plays around a single large diaphragm condenser microphone, a homage to a bygone era of live amplification. The lyrics to this song tell an interesting story of bittersweet romance. Even though I'm a bit early for Valentine's Day, it is the next major holiday (albeit a Hallmark one). Enjoy!
Production notes: Gibson LG2 Americana with AT4040 LDC -> Warm WA12 MKII Pre -> Komplete Audio 6 interface. Dual compressor, reverb and Solid EQ.
