You may be forgiven if you misinterpret the title and are under the belief that this is actually a love song. It certainly has that aesthetic, at least until you listen to the lyrics at which point you discover that this is in fact about murdering your lover. As it turns out I have a penchant for learning how to play murder ballads (..as opposed to love songs). On a lighter note, "Love Is All" was written by one of my favourite guitarists from the crowded (dreaded?) singer/songwriter category. What sets The Tallest Man on Earth apart is his intricate fingerpicking, use of alt-tunings, and unique vocal delivery. All of this makes for a very difficult song to learn how to play!
Production notes: recorded via two takes directly into MXL960 tube mic through DMP3 preamp. Severe EQ applied to make the recording sound "vintage". A small amount of reverb was applied. Guitar used was a Larrivee L-03.
