For anyone who follows this blog knows, I'm a huge fan of Josh Ritter.  This is one of his earlier songs from the Golden Age of Radio.  The lyrics are visceral, rife with the type of metaphor that Josh typically employs.  On a late winter day, "trying to leave my state of mind", indeed.  Incidentally, I've never been to Lawrence, or even Kansas.  I'm hoping to perform this live but with someone more legit singing (... here's looking at you Ella!)

Production notes: recorded through Zoom H1, no overdub or splicing at all.  Guitar used was a Gibson LG-2 Americana.  Compression, EQ and reverb applied in final mix.
